Role Summary:
Currently, sales are managed by ownership. This newly created Business Development Manager (BDM) is an intentional hunter, whose go-to-market focus is new business growth and growth through their existing customers. This individual will be a key contributor who is responsible for closing new business and ensuring terms of sale is executed for their new customers and existing customers. The BDM is responsible for documenting and driving account growth strategy and partnering with leadership/ownership to ensure account growth is resourced through collaboration, teamwork and hiring appropriate resources as/when necessary.
Role Responsibilities:
Prospecting and lead generation within target customers through proactive research, networking, prospecting and leveraging relationships.
Responsibilities include qualification services, the identification of target opportunities, and the management of the process for qualifying opportunities.
Developing the sales strategy for the deployment of the Company’s services to customer opportunities within our target industry verticals and networks.
Develop account-specific plans to ensure terms of sales and operations align with client capabilities and customer needs.
Lead the pricing process of new account opportunities, across spot and contracted scenarios.
Collaborate across functional areas in the development of solutions, proposals, presentations, and ensure that these are purposely and professionally crafted to provide compelling value propositions.
Utilize established processes and tools and ensure all data is accurate and up to date.
Provide quarterly reporting on all accounts (leads, prospects, existing customers) in stages for performance and new development.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred and 2+ years of Trucking/Brokerage/Logistics experience. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or GED, and an established record of success and results, will be considered in lieu of education.
Successful experience selling, operating and scaling Trucking/Brokerage/Logistics solutions across industry verticals to customers of varying sizes and complexity.
Experience in warehousing and contract logistics strongly preferred.
Proven ability within logistics, operations, customer service, and project management.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective customer and employee relationships.
Effective communication skills including oral, written and listening. These communication skills also require the ability to ask appropriate questions, overcome objections and lead the customer to solutions that provide great value and can be provided by the Company.
